We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your data. It applies to the RENTRV LLC website (https://rvrent.co), our mobile application, and any other services or platforms provided by RENTRV LLC that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively referred to as the “website” throughout this policy). RENTRV LLC (“RENTRV,” “the Company,” “we,” or “us”) is the operator of the website. The terms “users” or “you” as used in this Privacy Policy refer to individuals who use our platform to browse and rent RVs, RV owners who list their RVs for rent, and any other visitors to the website.

We will use the information we collect about you as outlined in this Privacy Policy. The website may include links to third-party websites, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those external sites. Please review the privacy policies of these third-party websites carefully before agreeing to their terms or using their services. Unless otherwise specified in this policy, the terms and definitions used here align with those provided in the Terms of Service or Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) of the website.

By providing your information to us—whether through subscribing, contacting us, or otherwise using the website—you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. This policy is effective from the date specified at the top of this page, and we may occasionally update it to reflect regulatory requirements, technological advances, website updates, or changes in our data collection and sharing practices. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will become effective immediately upon posting to the website. By continuing to use the website after changes are made, you agree to the updated policy, so we encourage you to revisit this page regularly. You may also wish to print a copy of this policy for your records.

By using our website, you acknowledge and agree that your personal data may be transferred outside your home country, and you consent to such transfers. These countries may have different data protection laws than those in your country. Nevertheless, if we transfer your personal data internationally, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy is protected according to applicable data protection laws and this Privacy Policy.

Since RENTRV LLC does not conduct business within the European Union (“EU”), the United Kingdom (“UK”), Switzerland, or other parts of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), nor does it target or market its services to residents of these regions, or track, collect, or monitor information from individuals in these areas, we are not subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) or similar international data protection laws. If you reside in the EEA, please be aware that GDPR and other international data protection laws will not apply to your use of this website.

To provide our services, we may store, process, and transmit your information within the United States or other countries where data protection and security regulations may differ from your own. However, regardless of where your data is stored, we will handle it in compliance with this Privacy Policy.

Information Collected Automatically: We also collect data automatically using cookies and similar technologies (you can learn more about these under the “Cookie Policy” section below). This may include your IP address, mobile device identifiers, location, navigation and click-stream data, the time and duration of your visit, the RVs you viewed, and the searches you conducted.

Information From Other Sources: We may also collect personal data from third-party sources, such as when you connect your social media accounts (e.g., Facebook) to our website. Other third-party information may include credit checks for fraud prevention, data from your mobile provider, or information from third-party platforms such as social media or review sites if you authorize data sharing with them.

Third-Party Websites and Links:

Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to websites or domains operated by third parties or affiliates. Our website may include links to external websites and services, but these links do not represent endorsements, and this Privacy Policy does not cover them. When you leave our website to visit one of our trusted third-party partners, you may be asked to provide personal information to them, such as biometric data or copies of government-issued identification. We do not collect or store any personal data gathered by these third-party partners. Since our Privacy Policy does not apply to their sites, we strongly encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site before using their services or providing personal information.

How We Use Your Personal Information:

The primary reason we collect your personal information is to provide the services you request and to enhance your experience on the website. You agree that we may use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To provide the services you request or to assist with your inquiries.
  • For security, credit assessment, and fraud prevention.
  • To contact you with updates regarding your account or the services.
  • To send messages that help facilitate the services we offer.
  • To develop and introduce new services or features.
  • To facilitate communication between parties. For instance, if you’re an Owner, we may share your details with a Renter who has booked or inquired with you; similarly, if you’re a Renter, your information may be shared with an Owner.
  • To customize, measure, analyze, and improve our services, content, and advertising.
  • To promote our services or those of our affiliates that may be relevant to you.
  • To verify your information for accuracy and compare it with third-party sources.
  • To prevent, investigate, or take action on any activity that may be unlawful or harmful.
  • If we provide you with insurance or related services, to use your personal data for claims management purposes.
  • To enforce our Privacy Policy and Terms, or for any other purpose outlined in these documents.

We also compile statistics on website traffic, sales, and other commercial data, which we share with third parties to improve the services we offer. Additionally, demographic information may be disclosed to third parties to help them better understand our customer base and broader consumer trends. If you’re a member, we may also contact you to discuss your account and service use.

How We May Share Your Personal Information:

Your personal data may be shared for various reasons, including the following:

  • To enforce our policies or in situations permitted by law, such as in response to a government request, legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
  • With one of our partners if you’ve requested their services or information.
  • With another user, such as when you’ve engaged in a rental or transaction with them.
  • With third parties performing services on our behalf.
  • With affiliated companies.
  • With other businesses or entities, such as during a potential merger, acquisition, or other strategic transactions, or for conducting background and credit checks.
  • With companies we partner with to promote or feature RV Listings or services. This may include sharing your Listings or photographs on other platforms.
  • With any third party you’ve authorized us to share your data with, such as when you’ve asked us to connect with your social media accounts like Google and/or Facebook.

If you accessed our website through a link on one of our partner’s websites, you consent to sharing your personal details and purchasing behaviors with that partner, in accordance with our contractual agreement. In the event of a sale or transfer of RENTRV LLC, or some of its assets, your personal data may be transferred to the acquiring party. Potential buyers and their advisors may access your data as part of this process. In a rare situation such as liquidation, bankruptcy, or administration, your data may also be passed on to a successor entity. Our customer database may be sold as a whole or in parts, and the acquiring business may differ from ours.

Advertising Disclosure:

We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a way for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and related sites. This means that if you click on certain links on our website and make a purchase, we may earn a commission from that transaction. Cookies are used in this program to track visits and assign commissions for sales.

Newsletters:

If you choose to register as a Member on our website, you may automatically receive our newsletter, which plays a significant role in delivering the services we offer. This newsletter may contain important information, updates, and tips that enhance your experience with RENTRV LLC. Renters, in particular, will be presented with the option to subscribe to our Renter-specific newsletter during the registration process. These newsletters are tailored to provide content relevant to your specific interests, including updates on new RV listings, special offers, and helpful resources for your rental journey.

In addition to our standard newsletter, we may occasionally introduce new, targeted newsletters designed to cater to specific aspects of our service. These newsletters aim to keep you informed about updates in the RV rental market, new service offerings, or seasonal promotions that may be of interest to you.

However, you always have control over whether or not you wish to receive these communications. Should you prefer not to receive our newsletters, you can easily opt out by clicking the “unsubscribe” link found in the footer of each email communication. Please note, while we strive to process your unsubscribe requests promptly, there may be a short delay before your preferences are fully updated across all systems.

It is important to recognize that transactional or service-related communications, such as order confirmations or important account-related updates, may still be sent to you even after you have opted out of marketing communications. These messages are essential for the management of your account or for providing the services you have requested. As such, opting out of marketing-related newsletters will not prevent you from receiving critical communications regarding your account, ongoing rentals, or other service inquiries.

By unsubscribing from newsletters, you should be aware that it may impact the ability to receive certain services where email communication is a core component, such as notifications about RV availability, reservation confirmations, or important updates about your bookings. Even though you might choose to stop receiving promotional emails, we may still need to communicate with you on key matters concerning your account or rentals.

Surveys:

To ensure we continually enhance and improve the services we offer, we may periodically invite you to participate in surveys. These surveys are designed to gather valuable feedback and insights from our users, allowing us to evaluate potential new features, refine existing services, and ensure that we are meeting your expectations. The decision to participate in these surveys is entirely voluntary, and you have the freedom to choose whether or not to provide your input.

The information gathered through these surveys helps us tailor our services more effectively to your needs and preferences. We may ask questions about your experience with specific aspects of the website, such as ease of use, customer service interactions, or the overall quality of the rental process. The data you provide may be aggregated with responses from other users to identify broader trends and areas for improvement. By sharing your insights, you play an active role in shaping the future direction of RENTRV LLC and contributing to the development of a better user experience for all.

Phone Calls, Text, and SMS Messages:

In addition to gathering data through online forms and written correspondence, we may also engage with you directly through phone conversations. Whether these discussions take place in person at events or over the phone, they are subject to the same privacy standards outlined in this policy. To ensure accuracy and quality of service, we frequently record telephone calls with customers. These recordings are treated with the same level of care as other personal data we collect and are securely stored and managed in compliance with this Privacy Policy. Depending on the nature of the call, these recordings may also be transferred between different locations or processed globally by our support team.

If you provide us with your mobile phone number during registration or when making a booking, you consent to receiving text messages or SMS notifications from RENTRV LLC. These messages may be sent via an automated system and are designed to keep you informed about your bookings, services, promotions, or other important updates. Examples of such messages include reservation confirmations, reminders about upcoming rentals, and alerts about new services that may interest you.

You acknowledge that message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile service provider, and no purchase is necessary to opt into this service. If you wish to stop receiving marketing-related text or SMS messages, you can easily do so by replying STOP to any message you receive. However, it is important to note that opting out of marketing texts may not affect other essential messages, such as those required to complete a booking or respond to an inquiry.

Inquiries:

Our website allows Renters to send inquiries directly to RV Owners using clickable links within RV Listings. If you choose to reach out to an Owner through these links, the personal information you provide, including your name, email address, and any additional details, will be visible to the Owner so they can respond to your inquiry. Your inquiry will also be stored within our system, and we may access it for quality control, to facilitate communication between parties, or for other customer service purposes.

Even if you contact an Owner directly by email or phone, a copy of your communication may still be routed through our servers, enabling us to track inquiries and ensure efficient communication. In some instances, you may be asked to leave a callback number when making inquiries by phone. It is important to exercise caution and avoid sharing sensitive information, such as payment details, in these communications unless you are certain of the security of the recipient.

Additionally, the inquiries you send via the website may be reviewed by our customer support team to monitor the quality of interactions between Renters and Owners. We may also use third-party email services to facilitate and track the delivery of inquiry emails, and the patterns of usage may be analyzed to improve the inquiry process.

How Do We Safeguard Your Personal Information?

RENTRV LLC is committed to implementing reasonable and effective security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, and accidental loss. Our security protocols involve both technical and organizational safeguards designed to reduce the risk of data breaches or improper handling of personal data. We continually evaluate and update these measures to ensure they remain appropriate for the sensitivity and volume of the data we collect and store.

Internally, we employ strict access controls to limit who within our organization can view and process personal data. Only authorized personnel who need access to fulfill their job responsibilities are granted such permissions. We utilize encryption, secure servers, and other technical solutions to protect your data during transmission and storage.

Despite these efforts, it is important to recognize that no system is entirely infallible. As a user, you also play a role in safeguarding your personal data. We recommend taking the following steps to enhance the security of your account:

Be cautious on shared networks: If you are using a shared or unsecured network (such as public Wi-Fi), ensure that your connection is secure and avoid performing sensitive tasks, such as logging into your account or making payments, on these networks.

Monitor your accounts: Keep a close eye on any linked accounts, such as email or social media, as they may provide an entry point for unauthorized access. If you suspect that one of your linked accounts has been compromised, update your credentials immediately.

Should you encounter any suspicious activity or believe that your account has been compromised, please notify us as soon as possible so that we can take immediate steps to secure your data.
